1. 100% Offline & Private

DhanCheck is an offline-first application. This means:

• All your financial data, expense records, and account details are stored locally on your device's internal database.
• We do not own any servers, and your data is never uploaded to the cloud or shared with any third party.
• You have full control over your data, including backups which you manage manually.

2. Information Collection and Use

To provide automated expense tracking features, the App requests specific permissions:

A. SMS Data (Read & Receive SMS)

• Purpose: The App reads transactional SMS messages from banks and financial institutions to automatically record your expenses and credits.
• Scope: Our engine is designed to filter only financial transactions. We do not read, store, or process personal conversations, contact names, or OTPs (One-Time Passwords).
• Storage: Parsed transaction details (Merchant, Amount, Date) are stored only on your device.

B. Notifications

• Purpose: To send you budget alerts, bill reminders, and confirmations for automated entries.

C. Biometric & Security

• Purpose: If enabled, the App uses your device's system security (Fingerprint, Face, or PIN) to protect access to your financial data. We do not store your biometric data; the authentication is handled by the Android System.

3. Data Storage and Security

We take the security of your data seriously:

• Local Encryption: We recommend using the built-in App Lock feature to prevent unauthorized access to the App on your device.
• No Third-Party Access: Since there is no internet-based data transfer, third parties cannot access your financial records through our App.
• User Responsibility: You are responsible for the security of manual backup files (.json) exported from the App.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

• All data remains on your device as long as the App is installed.
• You can delete all data at any time using the "Full Reset" option in the Settings menu or by uninstalling the App. Once deleted, this information cannot be recovered by us.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the App and on our official website. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
